Creative Mindfulness Groups for Women & the Queer community
Mindfulness is the practice of being in the present moment and noticing your thoughts, feelings, and emotions, as they are, and observing them without judgement.
Mindfulness has been proven to have many wonderful health benefits. Some health benefits include improved blood pressure, improved sleep, weight management, and improved cortisol levels. In addition, mindfulness has been proven to improve focus, attention, communication, emotional regulation, and improve the overall quality of life.
Mindfulness can help you be a better parent and s better partner. It can also help you be a better communicator, in general. Why? Because Mindfulness teaches us to slow down and gives us time to decide how we would like to respond to a situation. If we take the time to observe how we are feeling, then we can choose how we would like to respond to a situation. Mindfulness also teaches you that not everything needs a response. You become more in control of yourself and your emotions.

What kind of groups do you offer?
I offer a 6-Week Series group on Mindfulness. Each 90 minute session starts with learning a new mindfulness exercise. I then explain to you how you can generalize this exercise into all aspects of your daily life. My goal is to have you leave this group feeling like you can do Mindfulness anywhere and at anytime, no matter what is going on around you.
How does the art fit in?
Creative interventions have been used for centuries to build community, connection, sisterhood, all while also bringing a sense of calm.
Once I'm done teaching you about mindfulness you will work on an art activity. The purpose of this is to have you practice your mindfulness skills as you create your art.
